How we review gear
Unless an article says a product was tested hands-on, the review is researched. It's based on the manufacturer's specifications, retailer listings and official sources, and we link to those sources so you can check them yourself. When we have actually used a product, the article says so clearly. Our scores are editorial judgements, not lab results.
Prices and specs change. We check them when we publish or update an article, but confirm the current details with the retailer before you buy.

This site helps you prepare. It doesn't replace official advice. For warnings and instructions, follow your state or territory emergency services (fire, SES and police) and the Bureau of Meteorology.
