Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Survivalist is funded by affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, Survivalist may earn a commission from the retailer. You don't pay any extra. The price is the same as if you'd gone to the retailer directly.
Who we may earn from
The retailers and programs we work with may include:
- Retailers on Commission Factory, such as Snowys, BCF, Anaconda and Macpac
- Brand stores, such as EcoFlow, BLUETTI and Survival First Aid Kits
This list will change as we join or leave programs. A link to a retailer doesn't mean that retailer has endorsed us or this site.
How you can tell
- Any article with affiliate links shows a disclosure box near the top of the page, before the links.
- Product buttons are labelled "Affiliate link", and affiliate links in article text are followed by "(affiliate link)".
- Affiliate links carry
rel="sponsored"in the page code, which tells search engines the link is commercial.
Commissions don't buy recommendations
- We choose products on what we think suits the job and the reader, not on commission rates. If the best option for you is one we don't earn from, we'll still say so.
- Brands don't pay to be included, ranked higher or reviewed more kindly.
- We don't publish sponsored posts. If that ever changes, a sponsored post will be clearly labelled as sponsored at the top of the page.
- If a brand gives us a product to review, the article will say so.
How we review
Unless an article says a product was tested hands-on, the review is researched from manufacturer specifications, retailer listings and official sources. "Our score" is an editorial score, not a test result. You can read more on the About page.
Prices change
Prices, stock and specifications change often, and sales come and go. We check prices when we publish or update an article, but the retailer's page is the one that counts. Check the price and details there before you buy.
Cookies on retailer sites
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may set a cookie so it can credit the sale to us. Their privacy policies apply to that. See our privacy policy for more.
